The Very Revd Dr Isaac Poobalan is Provost and Rector of St Andrew's Cathedral since 2015. Born in India, Dr Poobalan worked as a Psychiatric Nurse before coming to Scotland where, from 1991-94, he studied for the priesthood at Edinburgh Theological College. He served as Curate at St Peter's in Edinburgh, and moved to Aberdeen in 1997 to be Priest-in-Charge at St Clement's Mastrick. In 2001 he became Rector of St John's Aberdeen. He holds a BD degree from Edinburgh University and a DMin degree from Pittsburg Theological Seminary. In addition to his parish ministry, he is Chaplain to the Robert Gordon University, a role he has exercised since 2008.

The Rt Revd Anne Dyer was consecrated Bishop of Aberdeen and Orkney in March 2018, the first woman ever to be appointed a Bishop in Scotland. Born in Yorkshire, she is a graduate of the University of Oxford and King’s College London. She was an Honorary Canon of Rochdale Cathedral from 2000-2004, and served as Warden of Cranmer Hall, Durham, a theological college of the Church of England, from 2005-11. In 2011 she came to the Scottish Episcopal Church as Rector of Holy Trinity Church, Haddington, in the Diocese of Edinburgh where she served until her consecration as Bishop.
