Praying in Grace l Growing in Grace l Giving in Grace
The Trustees of St Andrews are on a Pilgrimage of Trust with the God of Peace, praying for Renewal of their Mission and Vision in serving God in Aberdeen and beyond. Life is on hold in COVD 19. We ask for your prayers as we seek God's guidance and help as we seek to serve God in our particular call to be a people witnessing to the Good News of Christ in Aberdeen and beyond. Our Mission - The Upper Room The Mission of St Andrew’s began in the gathered of people in 1715 in the Castlegate. A few, united in prayer and a particular form of prayer gathered in an Upper Room and formed into St Andrew's Chapel. They were faithful in persecution and moved from one Upper Room to the next and found a home in the house of John Skinner. It was this Upper Room that gave birth to the Episcopal Church, USA in 1784. The new Anglican Communion was thus born and St Andrew's remains the home of new beginnings with global reach. The Upper Room is the place from where twice weekly Online Worship is offered to the people of God in Aberdeen and throughout the world. It symbolises the two vital events in the birth of the Church - the Communion of the Last Supper and the Empowerment of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost. Our Vision - Praying in Grace l Growing in Grace l Giving in Grace The people of St Andrew's remain faithful to their peculiar call to be like their Patron St Andrew - belong to Jesus as the first one to follow him, believe in Jesus to feed the five thousand with five loaves and two small fishes, and bring people to Jesus -both Greeks and Jews. They have a global reach through Worship (Music), Prayer (Liturgy , Proclamation (Preaching) and Outreach (Pilgrimage).
